What happens next
Reach out
Call (805) 852-5039, email info@lifespanfps.com, or complete the online form. You will not be asked to share anything private at this stage, just a brief sense of who you are seeking care for and what you are hoping to address. We respond within one business day, often the same day.
Brief intake conversation
This is a low-pressure conversation, not an assessment, where we learn a bit more about your situation, answer your questions about cost, insurance, and availability, and confirm that Lifespan is a good fit for what you need.
Match with the right clinician
Based on what you share, we match you with a clinician whose training, approach, and availability align with your specific needs. If you have a preference for a particular modality, gender of therapist, or scheduling window, let us know, we will do our best to accommodate it from the start.
First session
Your first session is a clinical intake: your clinician gathers history, explores your goals, and begins outlining a plan for treatment. Most clients leave the first session with a clearer picture of what they are working on and a realistic sense of what therapy at Lifespan will look like for them.
What to bring to your first session
- Insurance card and a photo ID (or have these details ready for a telehealth session)
- Names and contact information for any other providers involved in your care (primary care physician, psychiatrist, school psychologist, etc.)
- Any previous evaluation reports, IEP/504 plans, or relevant records you have on hand, copies are fine
- A sense of your goals: even a rough answer to "what would need to change for this to feel worthwhile?" helps your clinician hit the ground running
- Questions, about the therapeutic process, the practice, fees, or anything else. The first session is also a chance for you to evaluate us.
