At Lifespan, we are in-network with most major insurance plans. For clients who prefer to use out-of-network benefits or self-pay, we provide transparent rates and complete superbills you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

What are your rates?

Lifespan offers a full range of clinical services. Most of our clients use in-network insurance benefits, which significantly reduces out-of-pocket cost. For clients using out-of-network benefits or paying privately, our published rates are listed below.

Individual therapy session

Starting from $185

45 to 50 minutes. Rate ranges from $185 to $275 depending on clinician credentials and specialty. In-network with most major plans.

Couples therapy session

Starting from $225

50 minutes. Rate ranges from $225 to $300 depending on clinician. Couples therapy is generally not covered by insurance unless one partner has a qualifying mental health diagnosis.

Comprehensive psychological testing

$2,500 to $6,000

Complete evaluation including intake, testing sessions, scoring, integrated report, and feedback session. Final fee depends on referral question, battery complexity, and report depth. In-network with most major insurance plans for medically necessary evaluations.

Pre-surgical evaluation

Starting from $1,200

Typically a single clinical interview with brief testing and a report. Used for bariatric surgery, spinal cord stimulator implantation, and other surgical clearances. Often covered by insurance with referral.

504 plan and IEP support consultation

Starting from $300

Per hour. School consultation, IEP meeting attendance, and accommodation letter preparation. Most families pair this with a comprehensive evaluation.

Initial intake interview

Starting from $250

60 to 90 minutes. Self-pay rate. In-network clients pay only their copay or coinsurance per their benefits.

Out-of-network and self-pay

If your insurance is not on our in-network list, you may still be able to use your out-of-network benefits. Most PPO plans cover a percentage of out-of-network mental health services after your deductible is met. We provide a complete superbill after each session that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

  • What is my deductible, and has it been met for the year?
  • What percentage of out-of-network services does my plan reimburse?
  • How many sessions per year are covered?
  • Do I need a referral from my primary care physician?

Why some clients choose private pay

Most of our clients use in-network insurance and we welcome that. For some clients, private pay is the better fit. Here is an honest comparison so you can decide what works for your situation.

  • No risk of denial after services are rendered and no surprise out-of-pocket charges
  • No diagnostic code on your insurance record unless you choose to submit a superbill

A practical way to think about it. If your deductible is high or your plan limits testing hours, private pay can be the same effective cost or lower once you account for the benefits you would not actually receive. We are happy to run the numbers with you on a benefits-check call before you decide.

Even when you choose private pay, we provide a complete superbill on request that you can submit to your insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

Cancellation policy

Your appointment time is reserved exclusively for you. We require at least 48 hours notice to cancel or reschedule. Appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours notice, or missed without notice, are billed at the full session fee. We understand emergencies happen and will work with you in good faith when they do.

No Surprises Act and Good Faith Estimate

Under federal law, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges for non-emergency services if you do not have insurance or choose not to use it. We provide a written estimate before your first visit on request, and our standard testing and therapy rates are published on this page for full transparency.
