Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), often referred to as ADD (Attention-Deficit Disorder), is a neurodevelopmental disorder present from birth that affects the way the brain works. There are three subtypes of ADHD: predominantly inattentive, predominantly hyperactive or impulsive, and combined.

ADHD can affect everyone in different ways – for example, some may experience a tendency to “hyperfocus” on certain tasks for long periods and lose track of time, while others may find it difficult to narrow in on any single task at all. Common symptoms include: difficulty with attention, difficulty with concentration, trouble with focus, poor time management, forgetfulness, tendency to run late to meetings or appointments, trouble with organizing your day or schedule, difficulty getting started on tasks, difficulty completing tasks, and general difficulty with decision making.

It can be difficult to determine if these symptoms are a result of an attention-deficit disorder or some other mental health difficulty. If you find you are experiencing any of these symptoms on a regular basis, and they are interfering with your work or your ability to function, we can help!
